class 7 Superstitions

1, Do you think it is important to talk about superstitions in cross
culture communication calss? why?

Yes I do. For me, superstitions are important. Because I'm interested in other countries superstitions.

2, Is communication affected by suserstitions?

No it's not.

3, Do you believe in superstition? If yes, What superstitons do you believe? why do you do, use, or believe in them?

Yes I do. Because I think superstitions should belive. It is only superstition but not exactly wrong.

Class6 Time

1. Please explain a time proverb in your culture.

I want to explain "in the dead of night".
This proverb say "草木も眠る丑三つ時" in Japanese.
This proverb mean that state of silent night.


2. What do the following proverbs mean:

a. Time is money.

This mean is that time is important. So, you don't waste time as money.

b. A stitch in time saves nine.

This meas is that if you take a stitch in advance, you can save a lot of time to take 9 stitch after your cloth is popped open.

c. There's no time like the present.


This mean is that present is best time. So, you don't miss a good opportunity or chance.

d.Let's meet at 4. If I'm not there by 5, leave without me at 6, and I'll be there at 7.

This mean is that time pass quickly, so time can't wait for personal reasons.

1, What are some subjects that you will never discuss with a friend?

I never discuss about topics that my friend's not want to.


2, Do you have different friends for different parts of your life? If so, how are they different to you? Do you talk about different things? Go to different places? Give me some examples.

I have American friends. Because I stayed in America for a month. They speak English as usual. but they talked about same things. And, I think their life style was same with me, Japanese
